Colchester Winter Carnival

February 5th, 2012

I had, maybe, the best show of my life yesterday at the Colchester Winter Carnival near Burlington , Vt. Not as funny as in the past but the crowd and I were totally engaged.
What a great area. They are one of the few places that are figuring it out.
Make the jump to “Light speed” !!!!!!

Clown is the only person in the world that does not wear a mask !

An age old quote but I heard it from Dominique Jando at MotionFest in Baltimore in 2004.

Quantum Leap

January 31st, 2012

We are alive during a Quantum Leap. It is happening right now. It is a great time to be alive. Everything is changing soooo fast because of the internet.
Go and physically enjoy the forces that you are generating.

Our parents are GIANTS !  But we stand on their shoulders so we can see further !

The attribution to Bernard is due to John of Salisbury. In 1159, John wrote in his Metalogicon:[2]

Bernard of Chartres used to say that we are like dwarfs on the shoulders of giants, so that we can see more than they, and things at a greater distance, not by virtue of any sharpness of sight on our part, or any physical distinction, but because we are carried high and raised up by their giant size.

Today , Gordy went to Walmarts to pick up a “bouncer” for his 7 month old son, Mason. Meanwhile he dropped off his 46 year old cousin ( me ) to bounce at the trampoline center.

Runs Out

January 17th, 2012

Every single thing Runs Out.

If I did not have to worry about food, clothing or shelter let alone a car payment ;  if I could ski all winter , as long as I wanted and then play on my trampoline, ride bikes, play soccer all summer;  if I could take all of the vacations to all of the places that I ever wanted to visit ; if I could be with all of my friends and family as much as I wanted ; if I could get every wish that I ever wished …  IT WOULD RUN OUT !!!!

Only LOVE never, ever runs out ; and oddly enough that is just what most people are out of and looking for so desperately.  What a Paradox !

It is my gut feeling that Love’s opposite but far from equal counterpart,  fear is the cause of that.

I have a show coming up in Colchester , Vt. on Feb. 4th as part of Colchester’s Winter Carnival.  I will post more on that soon.

I have been skiing everyday at  Horseshoe Resort  up here in Barrie, Ontario, Canada and getting signicantly better at my Skating Style. I also joined  The Vertical Zone Trampoline Center where I am bouncing again and fixing some of my style laziness. Lately I have started learning physics again and I am starting to apply them to acrobatics and skiing.  Very Cool !

I will have some photos of Cousin Gordy ( where I am staying in Barrie ) his wife Elsie and their kid’s Matthew, Michael and Mason, soon.  As far as the “M” for the first initial, let me say that Elsie’s sister’s names are Ellie,  Elvie and Ellen.  Who boy !

Keaton Chaplin Clowns

January 10th, 2012

Why does physical comedy give you a belly laugh ?  Why is it universal ? Part of that is no language barrier but I feel there is more.  Buster Keaton arrived fully realized. Chaplin was the biggest star on the planet.  They were complete, full.  In the end they were both perfect, complete, final, realized.

Why does clowning figure in every culture ? Why are they healers ?  Revered ?  Why were Jesters beyond reproach ? Dominique Jando said to me once in a workshop that clowns are the only ones who do not wear a mask.  I am just starting to get that statement.  They are truth !

I remember watching a Keaton biography years ago done by the BBC and they were showing a commercial he had done for a shampoo in the late 1950′s, I am guessing.  He was sitting in a bathtub and then he stood up.   He was wearing his famous Stetson “flat-hat” and a roaring 20′s striped one piece bathing suit,  He was overweight and his body was probably totally broken from a lifetime of falling.  No hip replacements then people.  I guess you could see him as a fat , old guy.  I only saw Beauty.  Perfection.  A life and body Complete. Full.  Realized.  How wonderful !!!!!!!

Quote Of The Day And Kyle Otto

January 6th, 2012

Old Way   : ” Good Fences Make Good Neighbors ”

New Way :  ” No Fences Make Good Friends ”

On my way to Canada to ski and hang out with Cousin Gordy, his wife Elsie and their 3 young boys.

HOLY SMOKES  !!!

An incredible young man who used to ride with us with his sister at the Chatham Unicycle Club is having a run at the Olympics in Air Rifle Shooting.  His name is Kyle Otto.  His adventure is taking him all over the country and that takes money.  You can donate at   www.kylesdream.com .

Also, you can send a check or money order made out to “kylesdream” to 53 Chatham Hill Rd., Valatie, NY 12184.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! INTENT = Life = Faith = God = Universe = LOVE

January 4th, 2012

Whatever you want to call it,  it is the same thing.  But “INTENT” might be the hardest to grasp but the best symbol.

From Wikipedia :

Intention and the moral quality of actions

According to Buddhist theory, every time a person acts there is some quality of intention at the base of the mind and it is that quality rather than the outward appearance of the action that determines the effect. If one appears to be benevolent but acts with greed, anger or hatred, then the fruit of those actions will bear testimony to the fundamental intention that lay behind them and will be a cause for future unhappiness. The Buddha spoke of wholesome actions (P. kusala-kamma, S. ku?ala-karma) that result in happiness, and unwholesome actions (P. akusala-kamma, S. aku?ala-karma) that result in unhappiness. The Buddha also elaborated that it was impossible for virtuous action to produce unfavorable results, and for nonvirtuous action to produce favorable results.[7] However, although a good deed may produce merit which ripens into wealth, if that deed was done too casually or the intention behind it was not quite pure, that wealth so obtained sometimes cannot be enjoyed (AN.4.392-393). There are two classes of determined deeds which always produce good or bad results (fixed results, P. niyato-rasi) respectively, and a class of deeds which may produce either good or bad results (non-fixed results, P. aniyato-rasi) presumably depending on the context, although the Buddha does not elaborate (DN 3.217). Good karma is described as generating merit (P. puñña, S. puñya), whereas bad karma is described as demerit

Your intention is your life and your love !

I hope everyone had a great New Year’s Celebration.  I spent mine in Stowe, Vermont at The Von Trapp Lodge cross country skiing.  One of my favorite things to do in the whole world.  And better yet : I got to share it with my nephew Michael and my niece Kennedy.  I have been trying to show anyone in my family how to ski for years and  it finally happened.  So I really got to do two of my favorite things over the weekend;  pass on something I love to do to other people.

Here is a plug that I will put up again in the future :

This helps figure out  a lot.
